About Steiner
Hello! My name is Bryon Steiner, Owner and Manager of Steiner Home Inspections, LLC. I am an InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector® and an ATI Certified Inspector. Here is a little bit about me, and why I became a professional home inspector...For over 20 years, I owned and operated Steiner Designs, a graphic design and website design business based in Sacramento, CA. I loved my work, because it gave me a chance to showcase both my creativity and attention to detail at the same time. Like so many office workers, however, I also realized I was not meant to sit at a desk and stare at a computer screen all day. Around 2018, I started having vision problems from spending so many long hours in front of the screen. The LED computer screens (and LED smart phone screens) especially aggravated my eye condition. I developed photophobia (extreme sensitivity to strong light) and would get severe migraines. I needed to do something different, where I could move around more, rest my eyes, and spend less time on the computer. After much consideration, I realized home inspection might actually be a very good fit.
First, you need to have a solid knowledge of home construction. You need to have an eye for details as well a as good work ethic. You need to be unbiased and have actual integrity—being honest and having strong moral principals. Lastly, you need to create informative & easy-to-navigate reports for the client. The report is created on the computer, of course, but it does not require much screen time. The more I considered these criteria, the more I felt home inspection might actually be the perfect job for me.
In 2024, I enrolled in the ATI Training Institute's Principles of Home Inspection course. Students are required to learn licensing laws, Standards of Practice (SOP), report writing, general construction practices, and to perform real home inspections. Students are tested at the end of each section and must pass each exam before moving forward. After a long year of studying, testing and inspecting, I graduated the class and became an ATI Certified Inspector. I also joined InterNACHI®, completed several courses, and became an InterNACHI CPI® in 2025.
In the field of home inspection, you must always keep learning. Continuing education is acutally a requirement for home inspectors! Plus, building processes change, codes change, and technologies change. I aim to constantly improve my skills by pursuing additional coursework and learning as much as possible, to become the best inspector I can possibly be.
In 2025, I created Steiner Home Inspections, LLC. My goals are simple:
- To help buyers make the best possible decision when considering their next real estate purchase.
- To help sellers better prepare their home for market and to reduce stress during the sale.
